Monthly allowances for child support increase by 100 lei in Moldova

Chisinau, 7 September /MOLDPRES/ – Monthly allowances for child support will be increased from 1 August, more than 22 per cent up to 540 lei, according to a government decision taken in today's meeting.

According to the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, it was increased by 100 lei monthly allowance for child care until the age of 1.5 years (for uninsured citizens) and the minimum amount of monthly payments for a child under 3 years (if insured persons), which will constitute 540 lei.

Also, in order to support social adopted children and those under guardianship/trusteeship, the amount of allowance per month for this category of children will be increased to 800 lei. Decision is retroactive and will apply from 1 January 2016. The state budget will be allocated over six million lei to 100 lei allowance increase. This year, the state budget provides for allocation of funds amounting to over 48 million for allowances payment for children adopted or under guardianship/curatorship.

Promoting policies to support families with children, meet obligations to implement the National Action Plan Moldova-EU Association Agreement and program provisions of the Government of the Republic of Moldova for the years 2016-2018.
