Moldovan government increases monthly allowances for children

Chisinau, 7 September /MOLDPRES/- The cabinet today approved amendments to the normative framework on increase in monthly allowance for children, the government's communication and media relations department has reported.
Thus, the government approved a decision saying that starting from 1 August 2016, the monthly allowance for children up to 1.5 years increased by 100 Moldovan leu (in case of uninsured people) and monthly allowance for children up to 3 years (in case of insured people), reaching 540 lei.
Also, the allowance provided for each adopted child or under guardianship/trusteeship will increase by 100 lei, reaching 800 lei per month. The financial means on the matter are seen in the law on state budget for 2016. The new provisions will enter into force on 1 January 2016. The cost for increase in allowances amounts to over 6 million lei in 2016.
The measures are meant to promote the policies for supporting families with children and are in line with the provisions of the activity programme of Moldovan government for 2016-2018, as well as obligations assumed within the national action plan for implementing the EU-Moldova Association Agreement.
