Wage of teaching staff to increase by 8.6 per cent

Chisinau, 7 September /MOLDPRES/- The wage of teachers and professors will increase by 8.6 per cent starting from 1 September 2016, in order to reach the level of estimated average salary per economy, according to a decision adopted by the cabinet today.

The new wages of teachers and professors will be set starting from 1 September. The financial means on the matter are seen in the state budget form 2016, accoording to an informative note attached to a government decision.

Under the law on remuneration system in budget sector, the salaries of teaching staff are reviewed annually with increasing percentage in estimated average salary per national economy for 2016 against the average wage of teachers in education reached in the fourth quarter of 2015.

Statistics show that the average annual salary of teachers in school education in the fourth quarter of 2015 was 4,650 lei. The estimated average salary per national economy for 2016 is 5,050 lei.
