Moldovan cabinet decides to increase teacher salaries

Chisinau, 7 September /MOLDPRES/- The government today appoved increase in salaries of teachers and professors starting from 1 September 2016, the government's communication and media relations department has reported.

Thus, the monthly wages of teachers are to increase by 8.6 per cent in order to reach the level of estimated average salary per economy.

The new wages of teachers and professors will be set starting from 1 September. The financial means on the matter are seen in the state budget for 2016.

The amount of the increase was calculated based on the law on remuneration system for teachers and took into account the percentage increase in estimated average wage per national economy for 2016 against the average salary of teachers in education in fourth quarter of 2015.
