Over one hundred Moldovan customs officials dismissed due to professional incompetence

Chisinau, 8 September /MOLDPRES/ - Over one hundred customs officials were dismissed because of superficial knowledge of customs legislation and procedures specific work and the low level of vocational skills.
According Customs Service (SV), following the opening of officials' attestation procedure, Attestation Commission decided dismissal of 10 per cent of the 1069 employees because they "do not correspond to position held".
"The Commission's final decisions were adopted after examining the eligibility criteria set out in the statement attesting such as compliance with requirements for the function performed, compliance with labour discipline, and performance in the interview. At the same time, as a result of certification, there were identified several employees who had a high level of professionalism, which were to be promoted to the post and rank," reads a press release of SV.
The entire certification process was monitored by the EU High Counselor, Rosario de Blasio. Testing of Customs Officers started on 13 June this year.
