Another two Moldovan presidency candidates apply for initiative groups' registration

Chisinau, 8 September /MOLDPRES/ – Two candidates for President of Moldova today asked the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) registration of initiative groups to support them.
According to CEC’s public relations and mass media office, they are: Mihail Garbuz, Party "Patriotii Moldovei” (Patriots of Moldova) and Anatol Plugaru – independent candidate.
Within three days from the receipt of the documents submitted, the Commission will verify their correctness and will decide on registration or refusal of registration of initiative groups.
The period for submitting applications for registration of initiative groups to support candidates for head of state will end on 9 September.
Since the beginning of the election period, CEC registered 16 initiative groups to collect signatures in support of candidates forwarded to the position of the President of the Republic of Moldova. These include Marian Lupu – PDM, Mihai Ghimpu – PL, Igor Dodon – PSRM, Iurie Leanca – PPEM, Andrei Nastase – Partidul Platforma Demnitate si Adevar (Party Platform Dignity and Truth), Maia Sandu – Partidul Actiune si Solidaritate (Action and Solidarity Party) and Dmitri Ciubasenco – Partidul Nostru (Our Party). Also, the PDM candidate Marian Lupu and Mihai Ghimpu have already submitted to CEC lists containing signatures collected in their support.
