Moldovan authorities receive support messages to reform agenda from Latvia, Lithuania, Turkey

Chisinau, 9 September /MOLDPRES/ – Support messages for Moldova's European path and reform agenda from Latvia, Lithuania and Turkey were submitted today during meeting of Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu, the parliament's communication and public relations department has reported. 

Speaker Andrian Candu had bilateral meetings with Vice-President of Saeima of the Republic of Latvia Gundars Daudze, Vice President of Seimas of Lithuania Algirdas Sysas, and Vice President of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Ahmet Aydin. Officials arrived in Chisinau to attend festive program organized by Parliament on the 25th anniversary of Moldova's Independence.

During the talks, Andrian Candu said that among the priorities of the Moldovan authorities are speeding up implementation of the Association Agreement and the consistent implementation of the reform agenda. Speaker of the Moldovan Parliament expressed openness to retrieve Latvia and Lithuania expertise in implementing the acquis communautaire and the transfer of best practices towards European integration.

At their turn, Vice Presidents of parliaments of Latvia, Lithuania and Turkey appreciated the progress made by Moldova in implementing reforms and expressed support.

Gundars Daudze and Ahmet Aydin addressed to Speaker invitations to visit Latvia and Turkey in the coming period.

In the morning, Speaker Andrian Candu and his Deputies Liliana Palihovici and Vladimir Vitiuc discussed with European parliamentary delegations’ representatives, during an informal meeting, prospects for Moldova's development and strengthening of interparliamentary dialogue. European officials visited Parliament renovated building, as well as the plenary meeting room and Europe Hall.
