Chisinau, 9 September /MOLDPRES/ – Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova strongly condemns the new nuclear test announced today by North Korean authorities, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media communication service has reported.
Continuation of nuclear tests by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea constitutes a violation of UN Security Council resolutions on the regime of nonproliferation of weapons of mass destruction and is defying repeated calls of the international community to abandon programs of nuclear military developments.
The Republic of Moldova fully shares the deep concerns of the international community that these actions are destabilizing the security situation in the Korean peninsula and adjacent regions and urges the authorities in Pyongyang to give up the nuclear weapons policy and to re-engage in a credible political dialogue with the international community, including within the six-party format.
