Moldova is eager to help Chinese firms to enter EU, CIS markets

Chisinau, 10 September /MOLDPRES/ – Moldova has always regarded China to be a significant export destination of Moldovan wine, but also overall economic cooperation. Deputy Prime Minister Octavian Calmic, Minister of Economy, referred to it in his today speech at the sixth edition of the International Exhibition of alcoholic beverages, held in Guizhou Province, in China.
According to the ME’s Press Service, the Deputy Prime Minister stressed that this event constitutes an important step in identifying more opportunities for economic cooperation and development of Moldovan-Chinese trade and bilateral investment flows.
Octavian Calmic said that as a member country of the free trade zone within the CIS and because of preferential trade with EU countries, Moldova can help Chinese companies, including those specializing in viticulture and wine-making, to enter these markets. "We want to fully use our geographic advantage, being a bridge between Europe and Asia", added the Minister of Economy.
In his address to the participants of the meeting, Octavian Calmic also stressed that good relations development between China and Eastern Europe creates conditions leading to fruitful cooperation with Moldova. "I hope that more people in China have the opportunity to enjoy high-quality wines produced in Moldova on this path and invite you to join us at the national celebration of wine, which will take place 1 – 2 October 2016 in Chisinau," said Deputy Prime Minister.
Minister of Economy Octavian Calmic undertakes during 8 – 10 September this year, a working visit to China, where participates in the VIth edition work of the International Exhibition of alcoholic beverages and the World Summit of wine producers.
