Moldovan Prime Minister sends condolences to American people for victims of terrorist attacks of 11 September 2001

Chisinau, 11 September /MOLDPRES/ – Prime Minister Pavel Filip expressed his condolences to American authorities and people in the context of the 15th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of 11 September 2001, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
In the message addressed to U.S. Vice President Joseph Biden, the Prime Minister paid tribute to victims of the tragedy, noting that the people of the Republic of Moldova is close to those who had suffered from those violent acts. At the same time, Pavel Filip reiterated the firm position condemning violence and terrorism around the world and engaging in joint fight against them.
"This immoral and unprecedented act of violence against the United States America, is unforgivable. We must be united in the fight against terrorism, which is a global threat that knows no national borders," reads the message signed by the Head of Cabinet of Ministers.
On 11 September 2001, a group of terrorists hijacked four passenger planes hitting the World Trade Center towers (New York), as well as the Pentagon building (Virginia), USA. As a result of the attacks, there died over three thousand people.
