Dignity and Truth Platform Party leader submits lists with signatures to election commission

Chisinau, 12 September /MOLDPRES/- The leader of the Dignity and Truth Platform Party (PPDA), Andrei Nastase, today submitted to the Central Election Commission (CEC) subscription lists with signatures collected for his support in the 30 October presidential elections.
Nastase said that collecting signatures completed a few days ago. “In all, 25,000 signatures have been presented for supporting the PPDA candidate in presidential elections. After registration of my candidacy to CEC, I will take every effort to defeat in presidential elections. Thus, I am committed to clarify the case on theft in the banking system, guilty people should be investigated, and citizens should not pay on their own account stolen money,” he said.
“At the same time, after I get president position, I will sign more legislative initiatives for reforming justice, fight against corruption, providing decent pensions and a better life for citizens,” Nastase said.
“CEC is to verify within seven days documents submitted by PPDA and to decide on registration of candidate in the electoral competition,” CEC head Alina Russu said.
Earlier, candidate of Democratic Party Marian Lupu, candidate of Liberal Party Mihai Ghimpu and of European People’s Party of Moldova Iurie Leanca have submitted to CEC the subscription lists with signatures collected in their support. Subsequently, Lupu was registered by CEC in electoral competition for president position.
