Medicines, Medical Devices Agency starts verifications at Moldovan drug stores

Chisinau, 14 September /MOLDPRES/- The Medicines and Medical Devices Agency (AMDM) today initiated a control procedure in the Moldovan drug stores.
Verifications are carried out following a government’s request to solve problems identified in medicines' sector and pharmaceutical activity.
Under an instruction signed by AMDM director-general Vladislav Zara, community drug stores from Chisinau municipality, districts of Ialoveni, Orhei, Criuleni, Anenii Noi and Straseni town will be inspected. “AMDM representatives will verify the presence of medicines with brand names, medical devices of social importance in pharmacies' assortment, as well as prices for pharmaceuticals preparations,” the communiqué reads.
Last week, Prime Minister Pavel Filip summoned representatives of institutions in charge of implementing an action plan on settling problems in pharmaceutical field, in order to punctually discuss the actions that were not fulfilled and ways for removing hindrances to enforcing them. The PM asked “to take every needed measures to ensure a good development of centralized procurement of medicines nationally, as well as to boost the communication activity in this sector.”
