Moldova, USA to sign assistance agreement to consolidate democratic governance

Chisinau, 14 September /MOLDPRES/ - The Moldovan government will negotiate with the U.S. Government an assistance agreement to strengthen the democratic processes and institutions. The cabinet adopted a decision on initiating talks and approving the signing of the agreement at a today’s meeting.

The USA will provide Moldova will a grant worth 4.2 million dollars. The money will be used to achieve such goals as citizens’ enhanced involvement in the government’s decision-making, ensuring a more transparent and responsible judicial system and creating conditions for a full involvement of the local public authorities in settling citizens’ needs.

The agreement will enter into force on the date of the signing will be in force till 30 June 2021.
