Moldovan PM demands that authorities get responsible in organizing fair polls

Chisinau, 14 September /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip, in the beginning of a today’s cabinet meeting, demanded that the authorities prove as much responsibility as possible, in order to consciously fulfill their duties to carry out the polls for the election of the Moldovan president transparently, democratically and fairly, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
The PM asked Information Technology and Communications Minister Vasile Botnari to unveil to political parties, media institutions, as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps reports on the technical capacities of the work of the State Register of Population, including in terms of providing information for the State Register of Voters. At the same time, Prime Minister Pavel Filip said the information system maintained by the State Enterprise CRIS Registru was one of the most modern and developed systems of the European area and had mattered a lot in the process of getting the free visa regime with the European Union.
“The Register is very rigid and no falsehoods can be committed. If we technical prove the possibilities and capacities of this system, any kind of speculations will disappear in the society,” the PM stressed.
At the same time, Prime Minister Pavel Filip asked Interior Minister Alexandru Jizdan to ensure public order, both on the period of the electoral campaign, and on the election day. Also, Filip reiterated his appeal to the members of the central administration to keep away from the electoral campaign and focus on the work to be done.
“I do not want in any way that we lose two months, because if we get involved in the election campaign, the government will no longer be working effectively. For me personally and for you, the entire cabinet, our election campaign represents obtaining the programme with the International Monetary Fund. Even if not all the measures agreed with IMF are popular, they will be achieved on term, just as we have planned,” the PM added.
