Moldovan parliament speaker, central bank's governor discuss actions to strengthen financial, banking sector

Chisinau, 20 September /MOLDPRES/ – Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu today met with the Governor of the National Bank Sergiu Cioclea, the parliament's communication and public relations department has reported.
During the discussions the Governor introduced the actual situation with NBM, developments and actions taken by the central bank for maintenance and strengthening the financial and banking system of the Republic of Moldova.
The officials also discussed the financial and banking legislation preparations to be a priority of the Parliament’s autumn session and the state actions taken by the National Bank on the execution IMF preconditions view to signing a new program with Moldova and providing technical assistance for the banking system restore.
During the meeting, Sergiu Cioclea submitted to Parliament its proposals for the appointment of two Deputy Governors of the National Bank Vladimir Munteanu and Cristina Harea.
Andrian Candu said he would ask the Legal Committee on Appointments and Immunities to urgently examine these nominations to be submitted to Parliament for approval.
