Moldovan, Georgian premiers approach bilateral cooperation

Chisinau, 21 September /MOLDPRES/- In the context of participation in the 71st session of the United Nations General Assembly, held in New York, Prime Minister Pavel Filip met Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili on 20 September, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
The two officials exchanged opinions about the bilateral agenda and highly appreciated the good relations between Moldova and Georgia. A special attention was paid to cooperation in European integration sector, noting the need to continue the exchange of experience, including within the Eastern Partnership.
Filip said that Moldova was interested in taking over Georgia’s experience in implementing reforms in internal affairs, justice, defence, public service sectors, and opted for deepening cooperation on the matter. The sides agreed to create a joint group of experts meant to ensure taking over Georgia’s experience in the justice sector.
Also, the officials highlighted the importance of boosting the bilateral political dialogue, promoting cooperation within the international organizations, developing the economic potential, as well as boosting the cultural-humanitarian relations. The premier pointed out the opportunity to conduct the Moldovan-Georgian intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation in the near future. At the same time, Filip invited Georgian business people to attend privatization of Moldovan enterprises and to invest in national economy.
