Our Party candidate for president position submits subscription lists with signatures to electoral body

Chisinau, 22 September /MOLDPRES/- Candidate of Our Party (PN) for president position Dmitri Ciubasenco today submitted to the Central Election Commission (CEC) subscription lists with signatures collected in his support for presidential elections, due on 30 October 2016.

Ciubasenco said that 900 subscription lists with 25,000 signatures collected from 32 territorial-administrative units, 2nd level, had been submitted to CEC. “There were no challenges during collecting. I noticed a fair attitude from citizens. Under a financial report, 460,000 lei was spent for collecting signatures, out of 570,000 lei admitted by CEC. The financial resources were used to purchase petrol, calendars and social networks,” he said.

Under the procedure, the commission will verify within seven days the documents and will decide on registration of candidate in the electoral competition.

So far, CEC has registered four candidates for president position: Marian Lupu – Democratic Party of Moldova, Mihai Ghimpu – Liberal Party, Iurie Leaca – European People’s Party of Moldova and Andrei Nastase – Dignity and Truth Platform Party.

CEC has registered 24 initiative groups for collecting signatures to support candidates for president position, which would present the documents and the subscription lists with signatures collected in their support till 29 September 2016.
