Moldovan defence ministry condemns involvement of Operational Group of Russian Forces in actions organised by Tiraspol authorities

Chisinau, 22 September /MOLDPRES/ - The Defence Ministry condemns the organization and carrying out of so-called “anti-terror” exercises, as well as participation of the Operational Group of Russian Forces (OGRF) in activities organized by the authorities of the Transnistrian regime. The head of the defence and defence planning general directorate at the Defence Ministry, colonel Alexandru Harea brought this stance to the knowledge of the office of the Chisinau-based military and air attaché of Russia.

According to the Defence Ministry’s leadership, these actions run counter the principle of international law, are described as illegal and are inadmissible on the territory of Moldova. This imposes the need of unconditional withdrawal of the foreign military formations without a determined legal status and their stocks of ammunitions from Moldova.

In the context, the Defence Ministry’s leadership demanded informing the leadership of the Russian Defence Ministry about the OGRF’s inadmissible activities and undertaking measures to avoid such activities in the long run.
