European Commissioner to visit Moldova

Chisinau, 23 September /MOLDPRES/ - European Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn will pay a visit to Moldova on 26 September.
The EU official will have meetings with Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu, Prime Minister Pavel Filip, National Bank of Moldova Governor Sergiu Cioclea and more ministers.
Johannes Hahn’s agenda also includes meetings with the parliamentary opposition and leaders of non-parliamentary parties. “The main goal of the discussions in Chisinau is to sum up the present situation of the process of reform and implementation of the concrete reforms backed by EU. Special emphasis will be put on general presentation of the pre-electoral situation in the country, in order to ensure the carrying out of the commitments of OSCE and Council of Europe on the period of presidential elections due on 30 October,” reads a press release by the European Union Delegation in Moldova.
This is the second visit to Chisinau by European Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn. The first one took place on 6 November 2014.
