Moldovan parliament appoints first deputy governor, deputy governor of National Bank

Chisinau, 23 September /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament today appointed the first deputy governor and deputy governor of the National Bank of Moldova (BNM). Fifty seven lawmakers backed the draft decision.
Under the document, at a proposal by BNM Governor Sergiu Cioclea, Vladimir Munteanu was appointed to the office of BNM first deputy governor and deputy chairman of the Supervisory Board. At the same time, Cristina Harea was appointed as BNM deputy governor and member of the Supervisory Board.
Vladimir Munteanu graduated from the Academy of Economic Studies, Economy Faculty. In 1992-2000, he worked at BNM. Subsequently, Munteanu held the office of consultant for regional executive directors at the World Bank and International Monetary Fund.
Cristina Harea is head of investments at Gazelle Finance company – a specialized investments fund. At the same time, she acts as head of the American Chamber of Commerce from Moldova and is deputy chairwoman of FinComBank’s bank board.
Munteanu and Harea were appointed for a seven-year mandate. The decisions entered into force on the date of adoption.
