Moldovan deputy foreign minister attends informal meeting of foreign ministers of Black Sea Economic Cooperation states

Chisinau, 23 September /MOLDPRES/ – Deputy Foreign and European Integration Lilian Darii participated today at the informal Council of Foreign Ministers of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization (BSEC) member states, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media communication service has reported.
Organized in the margins of the of 71st General Assembly session of Serbia, the president in office, the meeting occasioned reviewing the activities to be conducted during Serbian mandate and an exchange of views on the organization's priorities for medium and long terms. Among some other issues discussed by the participants were topics of cooperation in economic and sectoral sectors, streamline of Permanent International Secretariat and efficient ways to reform the BSEC.
At his turn, Deputy Minister Lilian Darii stressed the need to continue to reform and optimize the functioning of the BSEC Permanent Secretariat. It was also reiterated the importance of maintaining economic character of BSEC.
The Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization (BSEC) was officially launched by the Declaration of Istanbul, on 25 June 1992.
BSEC was founded by eleven countries: Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, Turkey, Moldova, Russia, Ukraine, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia, being created a regional structure for multilateral cooperation in various sectors related preponderant to economic activity.
