Moldovan prime minister discusses with his Romanian counterpart on reforms in Moldova

Chisinau, 23 September /MOLDPRES/ – Prime Minister of Moldova Pavel Filip and Prime Minister of Romania Dacian Ciolos discussed the current state and prospects of development of bilateral relations during their meeting. The discussion took place in the High Level Segment of the 71st session of the UN General Assembly, taking place these days in New York, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
The two officials noted the intensification of bilateral political dialogue at various levels, which manifests the growing interest and importance of the priority assigned of special relationship between Moldova and Romania in the spirit of strategic partnership for European integration of Moldova.
Prime Minister Pavel Filip expressed his appreciation on behalf of Moldovan authorities to the Romanian Government’s consistent support of Moldova's European path and structural reforms needed to modernize Moldova.
In particular, Prime Minister Paul Filip talked about the priority reform agenda, which follows to be implemented in Moldova. Among them are: reforms of government, local government, administrative-territorial and pension system. Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos encouraged the Moldovan authorities to continue reforms and to communicate transparently explaining to the population their need and future benefits.
In other words, the sides repeatedly confirmed their mutual interest in boosting bilateral high-level contacts, increasing cooperation on economic and energy, including the development in 2016 of the next meeting of the Moldovan-Romanian intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation.
Also, the two officials were related to the implementation of various programs of technical and financial assistance to Moldova in accordance with intergovernmental agreements between Moldova and Romania.
