Chisinau, 28 September /MOLDPRES/ - The government today adopted a string of amendments to the way medicines are compensated in conditions of mandatory health insurances. The amendments are meant to enhance the residents’ access to compensated medication, as well as to improve the population’s health indexes, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
A novelty is giving right to the pediatrician to prescribe compensated medicines, which will facilitate the starting of the treatment and will exclude the need of a repeated going to the family physician, in order to receive the compensated prescription of the necessary medication. At the same time, the compensated fixed sums for the medicines are to be calculated based on the preparations’ retail prices, presented by the Agency of Medicines and Medical Devices.
At the same time, the authorities gave up limiting the volume for prescribing the compensated medicines in the contracts signed with medical institutions, and the concerned sums are to be applied for each administrative and territorial unit.
Also at the today’s meeting, the cabinet approved a string of legislative amendments to optimize the management in the health sector, especially concerning the simplification of the procedure of authorizing the medicines’ placement on market, as well as to enhance the responsibility of the competent authorities.
