Moldovan embassy in Japan officially inaugurated in Tokyo

Chisinau, 30 September /MOLDPRES/- The Moldovan Embassy in Japan was officially inaugurated in Tokyo on 29 September, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media relations service has reported.

Attending the event were Moldovan Ambassador to Japan Vasile Bumacov, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan Motome Takisawa, an important delegation of Moldova led by Ion Paduraru, Secretary General of the President's Apparatus, Anatol Vangheli, Secretary General of the Foreign and European Integration Ministry, heads of 2KR project and Moldovan business people. A lot of guests of the Japanese government, parliament, foreign ministry, central and local public authorities, members of diplomatic staff, representatives of business environment and media, as well as compatriots of Moldovan community in Japan participated in the event.

The officials delivered speeches, pointing out the importance of decision to set up the Moldovan embassy in Tokyo. Its official inauguration was occasioned by the 25th anniversary of Moldova’s independence. The diplomatic presence in Tokyo reveals Moldova’s firm desire to consolidate and develop the traditional friendship and cooperation relations in future, as well as to boost the cultural and interethnic ties between both states and nations. The officials highlighted significance of celebrating Moldova’s independence, which during 25 years asserted itself notoriously at international level as a sovereign and independent state.

Local promotional products have been presented at the event, as well as video materials on Moldova. At the end, each participant received a bottle of Moldovan wine in order to promote national wine production in Japan.
