Chisinau, 3 October /MOLDPRES/- The parliament today is going to hold a plenary session in order to consider the censure motion on the government’s activity.
The motion of censure was submitted six days ago by MPs of PSRM, PCRM and PLDM. The document was signed by 37 lawmakers – 24 MPs of PSRM, 5 – PCRM and 8 – PLDM.
The decision on censure motion against government Filip was taken after the government has decided to take responsibility to the parliament on seven laws related to the financial-banking sector, as well as converting emergency loans in state debt, which were offered by the National Bank of Moldova to three banks that have been liquidated. Prime Minister Pavel Filip said “all draft laws have been coordinated with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), due to consider a new programme for Moldova in October 2016”.
Filip has earlier presented to parliament the laws on which the government took responsibility, noting that “it was done so, as there is no time, less than one month left until the IMF executive committee’s meeting. If we choose the classic form, we will not manage to adopt the laws and to unlock IMF and EU financing,” he said.
Under the parliament’s regulations, the censure motion on the government’s activity can be initiated by at least ¼ of the number of elected MPs. It is subject to debate on the first day of plenary session on submission date next week and is adopted by the majority vote of deputies.
