PM attends event on 10th anniversary of American Chamber of Commerce in Moldova

Chisinau, 7 October /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Pavel Filip participated in a ceremony on the 10th anniversary of the American Chamber of Commerce in Moldova (AmCham) on 6 October, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.

The premier thanked the leadership and organisation’s member companies for openness to dialogue with authorities and contribution to improving the legal framework regulating the entrepreneurial activity. “Thanks for the proposals you did when we elaborated together the reform of controls in Moldova that is already an achievement. Also, an idea came up on behalf of AmCham to reduce the number of permissive documents, thing we have done too,” he said.

At the same time, Filip also referred to the activity of the Economic Council, which is composed of business associations, representing a platform of permanent interaction between government and business people. “We are a pro-business oriented government, as we see a direct and very close connection between business development, by offering necessary comfort, and possibility to make public and social investments, increase in salary and pension,” he said.

Attending the event, American Ambassador to Chisinau James D. Pettit remarked the successful activity of the chamber and reiterated the USA’s support for initiatives of developing a competitive business environment in Moldova and of boosting cooperation of entrepreneurs from the two states.

The American Chamber of Commerce in Moldova was founded in 2006, and gathers 109 companies operating in the country.
