Actual president is re-elected at Moldovan Writers' Union

Chisinau, 7 October /MOLDPRES/ – General Assembly members of the Writers' Union of Moldova /USM/ today re-elected poet Arcadie Suceveanu for another term as president of the organization. For him voted 111 writers and for the critic and literary historian Aliona Grati – 66 members.
Interviewed by the agency, Arcadie Suceveanu said that he was glad to be reelected to a second term as president of USM and will strive not to disappoint the trust by his colleagues.
"Being president of the Writers’ Union of Moldova is not so easy. I count on the experience gained in those four years of the presidency and the support that I expect from the team which is supposed to be formed. I also count on the support of 15 council members, who were elected at this meeting," underlined the president of the writers of Moldova.
During the meeting, there were made changes and additions to the status of the Writers’ Union of Moldova.
The USM General Assembly’s members also adopted a resolution on the socio-political and moral crisis in Moldova, and urged political forces not to abandon the European vector.
The Moldovan Writers' Union has about 300 members.
