Moldovan electoral body sets ballot paper model, order of candidates' registration in ballot

Chisinau, 11 October /MOLDPRES/ – The Central Election Commission (CEC) today set the ballot paper model and the order of registration of president’s office candidates.

CEC secretary Veaceslav Agrigoroaei, said during the meeting that "after the Commission registered only four out of the last eight candidates who submitted the set of documents, the unregistered competitors decade in previously established order and those in the running, reposition the ballot," said Agrigoroaei.

Following the amendments, the ballot looks like this: Marian Lupu – on behalf of the Democratic Party – 1, Mihai Ghimpu – Liberal Party – 2, Iurie Leanca – European People’s Party of Moldova – 3, Andrei Nastase – Dignity and Truth Political Party – 4, Ina Popenco – Ravnopravie (Equality of Rights) – 5, Dumitru Ciubasenco – Our Party – 6, Maia Sandu – Action and Solidarity Party – 7, Igor Dodon – Party of Socialists – 8, Silvia Radu – independent candidate – 9, Maia Laguta – independent candidate – 10, Ana Gutu – Right Party – 11 and Valeriu Ghiletchi – an independent candidate – 12.

Also during the meeting, CEC approved the model and text of the ballot for the presidential elections. "At the top of the sheet, it will be written the text "Voting-paper" and below it will be specified this election type and date. It will be also included the serial number of the constituency and the serial number of the polling station. The ballot will consist of 12 quadrilaterals, each of which will include the competitor’s electoral symbol, electoral candidate's name written in capital letters and the space for voting stamp," said Agrigoroaei.

On 30 October 2016 in Moldova, there will be held direct presidential elections.
