Moldovan meteorologists forecast Orange Code of heavy rains

Chisinau, 11 October /MOLDPRES/ - The State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) has informed about an Orange Code of heavy rains all over Moldova.

According to SHS forecasts, heavy rains (15-30 litres per square metre) are expected on the days to come and up to 50 litres per one square metre on 12 October.

At the same time, the north-eastern wind is to record gusts of up to 15-20 metres/second.

According to specialists, the weather conditions provided for by the Orange Code pose real danger, as they forecast dangerous phenomena of great intensity (storm, showers, thunderstorm, hail, heat, frost, flood risks, etc.), which can negatively influence the social and economic activities and cause substantial material damage and human victims.
