Chisinau hosts meeting of co-heads of Moldovan-Russian commission for commercial, economic cooperation

Chisinau, 11 October /MOLDPRES/ - An action plan on the development of the commercial and economic relations between Moldova and Russia for 2016-2017 is to be signed at a meeting of the Moldovan-Russian commission for commercial and economic cooperation, due in Sochi, Russia, in late next November. A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting between the co-heads of this commission, Deputy Prime Ministers Octavian Calmic and Dmitry Rogozin, in Chisinau today.     

The Economics Ministry’s press service has said that, at the meeting, Octavian Calmic and Dmitry Rogozin reviewed the action plan on the development of the commercial and economic ties between Moldova and Russia for 2016-2017. The sides set forth their stances on each of the 13 chapters: trade and economic, transport, agro-food sector, industry, energy, business environment, humanitarian, etc. The officials ascertained that the removing of obstacles to the commercial and economic relations between the two countries can be achieved also in conditions of Moldova’s participation in a free trade regime both with the European Union and Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).   

Deputy Prime Ministers Octavian Calmic and Dmitry Rogozin agreed that, till the meeting of the inter-governmental commission, the experts’ groups would prepare all protocol and technical procedures for signing the document.

At the meeting, the sides tackled also a string of subjects on the agenda of the bilateral relations, concerning the problems of removing of customs duties, transit of goods from Moldova through Russia to Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, boosting the trade and economic cooperation on the CIS platform, permits for carrying out goods transports, etc.
