Moldovan cabinet approves amendments to decision on managing means of subsidy fund of farmers

Chisinau, 13 October /MOLDPRES/- The government approved amendments and completions to a decision on managing means of subsidy fund of farmers for 2016, on 12 October. Under the amendments, the Agency of Intervention and Payments for Agriculture (AIPA) will resume receiving applications on getting subsidies, and the subsidy documents received over the limit of the subsidy fund will be authorized for payment from the 2017 fund.
A number of 2,659 subsidy documents were submitted for 2016, which value reached the amount of available fund, given the situation that debts worth 480 million lei were paid to farmers for 2014-2015.
On 27 September, AIPA stopped receiving applications, and after decreasing the subsidy fund, the applications value is higher by about 200 million lei than the fund value, reduced after the rectification of state budget law for 2016.
Prime Minister Pavel Filip asked the AIPA to resume receiving applications on getting subsidies over the limit of subsidy fund, as a result of requests on behalf of the farmers associations. The cabinet decided to be continued receiving subsidy applications till 31 October, as initially planned. The Agriculture Ministry estimates at 120-140 million lei the value of applications that might be until this date.
