Moldovan PM calls for full mobilisation to overcome consequences of heavy rains

Chisinau, 13 October /MOLDPRES/- During the 12 October cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Pavel Filip called for a full mobilization to overcome the consequences of heavy rains as soon as possible, which had caused material damage in more settlements of the country, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
Also, Filip asked that in the coming hours the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service and Interior Ministry should assess the damages due to heavy rains and should intervene to solve the problems.
“I ask the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service and the Interior Ministry to permanently monitor the situation and to be in touch with local public administration and be ready to bring together if needed. I have said that in these cases, our concern must be the safety of people and their property,” he said.
According to the Interior Ministry, as a result of heavy rains, 86 settlements of 18 districts remained disconnected from electricity. Also, in Chisinau some roads were blocked, and on the way to Cahul city more trees had fallen. The premier asked to operatively intervene to solve the problems and to be taken all measures to prevent the crisis situation.
