Moldovan farmers can apply for subsidy until 31 October 2016

Chisinau, 13 October /MOLDPRES/- Following a request by Prime Minister Pavel Filip, the Agency of Intervention and Payments for Agriculture will resume receiving applications on getting subsidies in agriculture. The cabinet approved a string of amendments and completions to the regulations on managing means of subsidy fund of farmers, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.

Under the amendments, the subsidy documents will be received till 31 October 2016, and payment authorizations will be made in the limit of the fund earmarked for 2016. At the same time, the authorities assume the obligation to pay subsidies for the applications submitted over the limit of available financial means in 2017.

The government decided that the beneficiaries should get financial support in 2017, given that the authorities had to face an additional budgetary effort in 2016, paying both payment obligations for 2016 and almost all arrears to payment of subsidies for 2014 and 2015, amounting to about 480 million lei.

The measure will ensure the good development of subsidizing farmers and will allow providing financial support to farmers who made investments for subsidizing in 2016.

A number of 2,659 subsidy documents were submitted till 26 September 2016.
