Governmental commission for European integration sets details for taking part in Moldova-EU Association Committee

Chisinau, 13 October /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip chaired a meeting of the governmental commission for European integration (CGIE) on 12 October. The participants in the event discussed the latest developments in the context of preparation for the meetings of the Moldova – European Association Committee, due in Brussels on 17-19 October, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
According to Foreign and European Integration Minister Andrei Galbur, the participants in the aforementioned meetings will review the main developments and progress made by Moldova in implementing the Association Agreement since the meeting of the Moldova-EU Association Committee from 2015. Thus, to ensure a better performance of Moldova’s delegation at this event, subjects of increased interest have been identified and the benchmarks have been set for the discussions due to be held with European partners.
Prime Minister Pavel Filip said that these two meetings were very important for monitoring and assessing the progress made in implementing the Association Agreement. The PM asked the ministers and other decision-makers, who will participate in the event, to prepare seriously for the discussions, both as regards the results and concerning the problematic aspects or where sufficient progress has not been made.
The participants in the meeting ruled to organize the next CGIE meeting following the return of the Moldovan delegation from Brussels, in order to discuss the outcomes of the debates within these two formats of dialogue, stipulated by the Association Agreement, as well as the developments in the working out of the National Plan on Implementation of the Association Agreement and negotiation of the Association Agenda.
