Moldovan PM says EU's analysis report represents guide for government's activity plan

Chisinau, 13 October /MOLDPRES/ – The Cabinet of ministers held a joint meeting with ambassadors of the European Union member countries and Switzerland in Chisinau, chaired by Prime Minister Pavel Filip and Head of EU Delegation in Moldova Pirkka Tapiola. It was presented the Report of the joint analysis of EU "Programming in the Republic of Moldova" during the meeting. It represents a common analysis of the context of socio-economic development of the Republic of Moldova and EU Framework partnership, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
Prime Minister Pavel Filip said that the Chisinau authorities appreciated the support and assistance given to Moldova in the European integration process. The head of government thanked for openness in the process of bilateral dialogue intensification, both between Moldova and EU, and between Moldova and EU member states, noting that the talks would continue a week after that in Brussels, within the frames of the Moldova-EU Association Committee’s work.
"Moldova-EU dialogue is a recognition of our efforts to return to normality with the implementation of the reform agenda and it is also a result of progress on the path of reform process, including the roadmap implementation," the prime minister said.
Meanwhile, Pavel Filip said he was currently working on the Association Agenda for the years 2017-2019 and the fulfillment of the conditions for signing cooperation agreement with the International Monetary Fund.
"The presented analysis is extremely useful, we will study carefully and we will take the best solutions identified. This document will guide the Government’s Activity Plan for the next period. The submitted suggestions will help us define the reform agenda and to prioritize actions. Moldova will follow its European course, while some other option is out of the question," said Pavel Filip.
At his part, Head of EU Delegation in Chisinau, Pirkka Tapiola, spoke about the importance of continuing Moldova's strategic partnership with the European Union and setting common objectives in implementing the reforms and ensure the Moldova’s development. At the same time, the European official appreciated the progress made by the Moldovan government to implement the roadmap set by Brussels.
"The document, presented today, is detailing the situation in Moldova in 13 areas, highlighting the most important issues to be overcome through joint efforts and commitments. In the process of analysis making took part all EU member states ambassadors in Chisinau. This exercise is intended to advance our strategic partnership to the benefit of Moldovan citizens," said Pirkka Tapiola.
The analysis document sets out the progress made by Moldova in exploitation European Union and the support provided by development partners, and identify main cooperation directions for the upcoming period. This report is the primary source of reference for planning future assistance from EU to Moldova within 2017-2020.
