French company interested in launching investment project in Moldova

Chisinau, 13 October /MOLDPRES/ - A French company, Sofimeca, is set to launch an investment project in Moldova, which implies manufacturing different electronic and electro-mechanical components. The head of the company, Daniel Parmentier, made statements to this effect at a meeting with Deputy Economics Minister Vitalie Iurcu today.     

According to the Economics Ministry’s prtess service, the representative of the French company noted that, in the first stage of the project, due to be launched in the Ungheni Free Economic Zone, Sofimeca intended to investment 500,000 euros in producing various electronic and electro-mechanical components, used in diverse industrial sectors. Daniel Parmentier also said that, in the first phase of the project, 50 new jobs would be created, with their number due to increase in the next stages of the project.      

For his part, Vitalie Iurcu welcomed the decision by the Sofimeca Group. He stressed that Moldova’s authorities had lately carried out more actions to create an attractive climate for the business environment, woo foreign direct investments, etc. “The Free Economic Zones and the Industrial Parks are ideal platforms for foreign investors, as they provide a wide range of fiscal and other kinds of facilities to develop a profitable business,” the deputy economics minister said.   

The Sofimeca Group was set up in 1986 and has enterprises in more states and the activities of this company varies from studies to large scale production in processing of plastic, pipes, mechanical sectors, etc.
