Chisinau, 19 October /MOLDPRES/ - The Competition Council has authorized the taking over of the joint venture Sun Communications by Orange Moldova. The Council found out that this operation did not put significant obstacles to the effective competition on Moldova’s market or on the latter’s substantial part, especially via creation or strengthening of a dominant position.
The competition authority assessed the operation of economic concentration from the viewpoint of its compatibility with the normal competition environment, in accordance with the law on competition and the decision on approval of the regulation on economic concentrations.
Orange Moldova on 29 June signed an agreement on the acquisition of 100 per cent of the registered share capital of the Sun Communications company.
