Warrant of arrest on 14 magistrates, 3 court executors extended

Chisinau, 20 October /MOLDPRES/- Buiucani court extended the warrant of arrest by 25 and 30 days on 14 magistrates and 3 court executors, and today it is going to rule on another judge.
According to the press service of the National Anticorruption Centre, defendants are accused of complicity in laundering 20 billion dollars from Russia through the banking system in Moldova.
Anticorruption prosecutors and CNA officers detained 18 persons a month ago, including 15 magistrates and 3 court executors, who would have been part of a criminal scheme, allowing money laundering from abroad via the banking system in the country.
The criminal investigation actions were carried out with the consent of Superior Council of Magistrates which had allowed criminal investigation, search and detaining 16 current and former judges.
The investigations are going on, criminal case being managed by the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office.
