Twenty four Moldovan policemen detained for taking bribes

Chisinau, 25 October /MOLDPRES/ – The anti-corruption prosecutors today arrested twenty four employees of the National Patrol Inspectorate (INP) for bribery. The information was confirmed to the agency by the interim General Prosecutor Eduard Harunjen.
Requested by the agency, Harunjen said that "so far, there have been detained twenty four INP inspectors for committing acts of corruption at their working place. Similarly, the number of persons detained could have been increased. For the moment, we can not give more details as there take place some other investigative measures," Harunjen said.
The interim general prosecutor said that "by the end of the day, it will be organized a press briefing, where we will come up with more additional information."
