Citizens with no domicile, residence can participate in elections for Moldovan president office

Chisinau, 25 October /MOLDPRES/ – Citizens without domicile or residence can participate in the presidential elections of 30 October. Referred to it, the Central Election Commission (CEC) today approved a decision, throughout which they will be able to exercise their voting right at the polling station from the last home address area.
Alina Russu, CEC Chairman, stated at the hearing that people included into this category "will be required to sign a declaration upon their own responsibility that they did not vote or will not vote in some other polling station".
Also, citizens who can prove the recent residence or place of residence will be able to vote at any polling station of Moldova.
According to statistics of the State Information Resources Centre "Registru" (Registry), currently, in Moldova there are 63,667 citizens without residence or domicile. At the parliamentary elections of 30 November 2014, it was recorded a higher number, consisting of 90,062 citizens.
Next Sunday, there will be held direct presidential elections in Moldova.
