Moldovan PM asks competent institutions to prove professionalism in organising elections

Chisinau, 26 October /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip, at a today’s cabinet meeting, repeatedly launched the appeal to all competent institutions to prove maximum of professionalism and ensure the good carrying out of the presidential elections due on 30 October, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
“We wanted these presidential elections and I consider that they strengthen democracy by enhancing the awareness of the citizens’ decision in relation to the state. This exercise, on the one hand, is very important, on the other hand, it represents a major responsibility and both me and all of you those present in this hall, are interested in these polls taking place absolutely transparently and correctly,” the prime minister said.
At the same time, the PM noted that it was important that the goals set by the government be maintained, and the authorities make the needed efforts to achieve them. “I mean here the European integration, a talk about Moldova becoming more reliable before the development partners. I personally hope that, following these elections, our very hard work to return to the international financial market will be extended,” the prime minister stressed.
Pavel Filip demanded that the employees of the Interior Ministry, Central Electoral Commission and all institutions involved in organizing the electoral campaign not pay attention to political intimidations, but prove professionalism, so that the polls be fair and the observers can confirm this.
