Moldovan-Slovakian consultations held in Bratislava

Chisinau, 26 October /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Lilian Darii held today, in Bratislava, a round of consultations with the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of of Slovakia Lukáš Pařízek.
According to the Foreign and European Integration Ministry, during the consultations, the interlocutors discussed the main issues of the bilateral cooperation, in the light of the agreements reached during the previous political dialogue at various levels. They agreed a list of joint actions to further develop the political dialogue at governmental and parliamentary level, and to implement bilateral cooperation projects. In particular, they discussed ways to boost political dialogue, increase the volume of economic exchanges, and strengthen cultural ties and human contacts between the two countries.
The two officials also discussed the political and security developments on the European continent. They mentioned the high volatility of the security environment in Europe, referring to the lack of progress in addressing the conflicts in Eastern Europe and South Caucasus, recent events in Turkey, terrorist threat in many European countries and the migration crisis.
The two officials also discussed the developments in the Transnistrian settlement process and some aspects of the regional security. In this context, the Slovak diplomat reiterated the support of Slovakia to the efforts aimed at identifying a political solution negotiations process based on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova.
Deputy Minister Darii informed on the efforts undertaken by the Government in Chisinau to implement the reform agenda in accordance with the provisions of the Association Agreement with the European Union.
State Secretary Lukáš Pařízek reiterated Slovakia’s firm determination to encourage and support the reform agenda of the Republic of Moldova and the efforts to modernise the society.
