Moldovan PM demands reforming system of establishing disability, ability to work

Chisinau, 26 October /MOLDPRES/ – At the beginning of today's Government meeting, Prime Minister Pavel Filip urged authorities to undertake the necessary measures to eliminate irregularity at determining disability, providing citizens with conditions of impartial work capacity assessment, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
The prime minister said that the current system has got many loopholes and problems, being often drawn out even by citizens. Among them, corruption at disability establishment, lack of transparency and impartiality in the process of evaluation. In this context, Pavel Filip asked that together with the pension reform, which was already launched, to be synchronized and reform the process of disability determination. "We all know that there are many problems in this system, on one hand there is inequity, on the other hand, the state is damaged," said Pavel Filip.
The prime minister asked the Ministry of Labour, Social Protection and Family to present, within a week, the vision and the concept of reforming the system of determining disability and capacity for work, thus subsequently to prepare draft laws and regulations which are necessary to support the reform’s implementation.
