Moldovan foreign minister meets Latvian counterpart

Chisinau, 28 October /MOLDPRES/ – Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Galbur, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, who pays a working visit to Riga today had a meeting with the Foreign Minister of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs.
According to the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media communication service, discussions focused on the main issues on the agenda of bilateral dialogue, also being examined the schedule for high-level visits planned for 2017. Special attention was paid to developments of the Moldova's European integration process, including progress in the implementation of the Association Agreement.
The Latvian minister reiterated his country's openness to support Moldova's European vector and willingness to share experience of Latvia in this process. In this context, Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Galbur thanked for assistance of development provided by the Latvian side and expertise to achieve the necessary reforms in our country in areas such as good governance, justice, economic and regional development.
Following the interest expressed by Edgars Rinkēvičs, it was also discussed the internal political situation in Moldova on the eve of presidential elections.
The Transnistrian conflict settlement, regional developments and threats to security were also addressed in discussions heads of the Moldovan and Latvian diplomacy.
