Moldovan speaker meets with delegation of European parliamentarians

Chisinau, 29 October /MOLDPRES/ – Control over the laws’ implementation adopted by Parliament is one of the Legislature’s priorities, dashed for the next period by Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu at today's meeting with a group of members of the European parliament, who are on a monitor visit of the presidential elections in the Republic of Moldova, the parliament's communication and public relations department has reported.
Andrian Candu also announced that the parliamentary majority is well welded and focused on promoting reforms, not political differences. According to him, Parliament and Government synchronize their agenda for achieving results that would restore the people, civil society and international partners’ confidence in politicians in Moldova.
Speaking about presidential elections, the speaker underlined the interest of the authorities to ensure the free and fair voting. Also, Andrian Candu notified colleagues in the European Parliament that most do not consider the change of credentials to the President, regardless of the elections’ outcome result.
In the context of EU – Moldova inter-parliamentary dialogue, the speaker expressed his commitment to implement the reform agenda undertaken for the European course of Moldova.
The delegation of the European Parliament consisted of Igor Šoltes, the Group of Greens/European Free Alliance, Slovenia, Siegfried Muresan European People's Party, Romania, member of the EP Delegation to the Parliamentary Committee EU-Moldova, Heidi Hautala, the Group of Greens/European Free Alliance European, Finland, Fabio Massimo Castaldo, Europe of Freedom and Direct Democracy, Italy, Janusz Korwin-Mikke, independent deputy, Poland and the Head of EU delegation in Moldova Pirkka Tapiola.
