Moldovan Liberals leader votes "for freedom and unity of people"

Chisinau, 30 October /MOLDPRES/- Candidate for president position on behalf of the Liberal Party (PL) Mihai Ghimpu today voted for election of president. He came to the polling station accompanied by his wife and noted he voted for freedom and unity of the people.
“I voted for ideal of ancestors, for Ion and Doina Aldea-Teodorovici, for freedom, prosperity and unity of people. Once hit the road, we should get where we want, these are my expectations,” Ghimpu said.
Direct presidential elections take place in Moldova today. Almost 2.8 million citizens are expected at the ballot boxes.
Nine candidates remained in the electoral race: Mihai Ghimpu – Liberal Party, Iurie Leanca – European People’s Party of Moldova, Dumitru Ciubasenco – Our Party, Maia Sandu – Action and Solidarity Party, the Dignity and Truth Platform Party, the Liberal Democratic Party, Igor Dodon – Party of Socialists, Silvia Radu – independent candidate, Maia Laguta – independent candidate, Ana Gutu – Right Party and Valeriu Ghiletchi – an independent candidate.
