Moldovan independent candidate opts "for snap polls"

Chisinau, 30 October /MOLDPRES/- Independent candidate for president position Dumitru Ciubasenco today voted for election of president. The electoral contender said he voted “for snap polls”.
“We expect a good result from the presidential elections. I personally voted for a president who will dissolve the parliament. We aim at snap polls,” Ciubasenco said.
Direct presidential elections take place in Moldova today. Almost 298,000 voters (10.53 per cent) were present at the ballot boxes till 10:00.
Nine candidates for the president position remained in the electoral race: Mihai Ghimpu – Liberal Party, Iurie Leanca – European People’s Party of Moldova, Dumitru Ciubasenco – Our Party, Maia Sandu – Action and Solidarity Party, the Dignity and Truth Platform Party, the Liberal Democratic Party, Igor Dodon – Party of Socialists, Silvia Radu – independent candidate, Maia Laguta – independent candidate, Ana Gutu – Right Party and Valeriu Ghiletchi – an independent candidate.
