Moldovan Socialists leader votes "for prosperous country"

Chisinau, 30 October /MOLDPRES/- Candidate for president position on behalf of Party of Socialists (PSRM) Igor Dodon today voted for election of president. He camte to the polling station accompanied by family and noted he voted "for a prosperous country".

"I think it is a day quite important for Moldova, it is a new beginning. I came here with my wife in hope for better life and we firmly believe that most citizens come to vote with the same thought. I voted for a prosperous country, where our children will have a nice future, and parents, retirees should feel that the state needs them," Dodon said.

Nine candidates remained in the electoral race: Mihai Ghimpu – Liberal Party, Iurie Leanca – European People’s Party of Moldova, Dumitru Ciubasenco – Our Party, Maia Sandu – Action and Solidarity Party, the Dignity and Truth Platform Party, the Liberal Democratic Party, Igor Dodon – Party of Socialists, Silvia Radu – independent candidate, Maia Laguta – independent candidate, Ana Gutu – Right Party and Valeriu Ghiletchi – an independent candidate.

First preliminary data on results of elections will be presented around 22:00.
