PEPM leader opts "for European integration of Moldova"

Chisinau, 30 October /MOLDPRES/ – The candidate for the head of state of Moldova from the PPEM (People’s European Party of Moldova) Iurie Leanca has exercised today his right to vote for election of the President of the Republic of Moldova. The leader of PPEM came to the polling station accompanied by the family and voted for "for the European integration of the Republic of Moldova"

“I have come to give my vote for our unique path of development, the European Integration. From there, there comes the hope, support and possibility of development of the country for a better future of the country,” said Leanca.

“I come with an appeal towards the citizens, all those who believe that the future of the country can be assured within EU, to come to polling stations, as far as, just like that they can decide if the Republic of Moldova is supposed to be or not a European state,” the leader of PPEM mentioned.

There are  nine candidates taking part in the election race: Mihai Ghimpu – PL (Liberal Party), Iurie Leanca – PPEM (People’s European Party of Moldova), Dumitru Ciubasenco – PN (Our Party), Maia Sandu – PAS (Party of Action and Solidarity), PPDA (Platform Party Dignity and Truth), PLDM (Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova), Igor Dodon – PSRM (Socialist Party of Moldova), Silvia Radu – independent candidate Maia Laguta – independent candidate, Ana Gutu – Partidul Dreapta (Party of Equity of Rights) and Valeriu Ghiletchi – independent candidate.

If none of these ones gathers at least half of the voters’ votes, then within a fortnight it will take place the second round of elections, where the citizens will select between those two candidates accumulating most votes in the first round.
