About 38,300 persons vote in Moldova's southern Gagauz autonomy at 16:00

Chisinau, 30 October /MOLDPRES/ - About 38,300 persons voted in the Gagauz-Yeri Autonomous Territorial Unit till 16:00.  

The deputy head of the district electoral council UTA Gagauz-Yeri No 36, Lidia Octav, has told MOLDPRES that “till present, only 29.4 per cent of the region’s residents have voted, and the flow of people coming to vote is moderate. Major incidents have not been recorded.”     

Direct presidential polls take place in Moldova today. The authorities have opened about 2,000 polling stations, where 2.8 million people are expected to come to vote. Till 16:00, over one million electors, 41.16 per cent, came to vote.

The most active voters are women, 52.84 per cent, and persons aged between 56 and 70 years. The most passive voters are citizens older than 70, 8.54 per cent, as well as young persons with the age between 18 and 25 years, 9.18 per cent.
